About to be off to My favorite Local Show of the YEAR!!!!

I tried to post up the registered list of competitors to see the names I knew and give some over view/predictions but it seems the site is down as they are probably updating periodically.

From Memory of the ones I remember hearing or seeing

*Mark Thompson - Sickkkkk Super HeavyWeight! (Won the overall at the Maggie FIT)
*Mindy Dower - top five in this show and many NPC shows in the last three years - great look - I expect her to do well!
*Stephanie May - haven't seen her before but she is working with Amanda (Sweet Capri) and if Amanda says she looks good she looks good!
*Deanna (don't know her last name) Jose Raymonds GF she also won her class at the NPC Colonial CUp in Fall of 07 - Awesome PHysique!
*And Robby Gould - who I've never seen compete I don't believe but last I saw a pic he was 315 at 17 weeks out with visible abs and I hear he looks GREAT!
* Jen Lawson - also has many top five finishes including 2nd place (yes one spot ahead of yours truly lol) at the 07 Maggie FIT - - I expect top five for her as well!

I feel bad cause I'm sure there are a ton more... but I can't get the list now so next time I post will be AFTER the show.

WHAT A DAY!!!!!!:awesome: Once again GREAT SHOW! Fabulous show! Believe me I have MUCH to say :) this was a great motivating day I want to share!
I promise to write a long update later, and post some pics, when the boys go down for their nap, as I have a lot of catching up to do around here...as we were gone the whole day. Lori and TONI took a TON of pics! I took some, not as many as usual though, I forgot how hard it is to attend a show when you yourself are prepping too (never mind when hubby's a week out!) LOL You constantly are watching the clock for food and supps and I DEF did not even come close to drinking enough water... but overall it was worth the motivation I got from GOING!!

The show itself, the way it is run, the professionalism, the staff, and the superstars in the sport that are there is ALL IMPRESSIVE and motivating as hell! Oh yeah and some of the biggest, BEST damn TROPHIES I HAVE EVER SEEN! Anyone within a four to five hour radius and is looking for a great Regional show... YOU WILL NOT be disappointed! I will give you my highlights... notes on physiques as pics do not always tell the full story and later when I upload pics I will post some. Although Lori has a ton MORE but is crazy busy and I'm sure tired from her long day of hard work both scoring AND picture taking and the whole TEAM NEW ENGLAND has to do it all over again next weekend at the Maggie FIT!

So I'll start from the top

*It was pouring down rain out and dreary... and of course you have to walk from parking...if I was competing I would have had no shame in my game putting a bag on my head LOL Thank God my hair was pulled back even then I could feel it curling up LOL

*Mr. G from MD is certifiably insane! But in a good way LOL There are few people's who energy makes me giddy as I'm pretty hyper myself but he is highly entertaining and NON STOP!

*Evan C off season is GINORMOUS... Seriously that kid is BIG AS HELL! Ern was already a fan but after seeing him in person off season he was so impressed! And yet Evan still had veiny forearms!

*Collette is still and will always be One of my favorite BBs of all times... she is GORGEOUS I mean GORGEOUS! Her energy is high too and she's so HONEST... I LOVE THAT! I could talk to her all day! Her Madonna routine which she will be performing at the NY PRO is awesome of course... although I still think she should rock the cone bra that she decided against in an attempt to be more conservative and not piss people off... I'm glad she is able to enjoy herself on stage and BE HER as many in the sport unfortunately cannot do. (with all the hustle and bustle I kept saying I have to get a pic with her, I have to get a pic with her again and never did :()

*Dave P is so respected and loved here in New England. As excited as everyone is to see him,MD, and hear his seminar. Even though he no longer guess poses they are more excited because half of them use him as a trainer LOL Seriously, Jose 2nd in heavyweight last year stepping it up to Nationals this year trains with him. Leslie won Middleweights last year and will be competing in masters nationals in JULY uses him (She's 11 weeks out and wait till I post the pic of her and I - she's shredded already!). Nate won Light Heavies at the NPC Colonial Cup in 07 uses him (and BTW has the sickest genetics at 23!), Raven "the Asian sensation" who placed 2nd in figure last year at the New Englands and will be competing at Junior Nats is using him and with 7 weeks to go already looks like a completely different person from last year... and of course MY HUBBY uses him and looks the best he has EVER looked! And Mark Thompson who WON the super heavies and Most Muscular uses his methods... so like I said when Dave shows up it's like EVERYONE"S trainer is here for a visit! LOL His Species booth was PACKED and Ern was beside himself that he bought supps cheaper than normal AND they gave him a FREE Species sweatshirt which he will PROUDLY be rockin next weekend! LOL Not to mention Dave really is one of the most laid back guys in the biz... has a very Zen doesn't let shit ruffle his feathers attitude which is admirable!
Oh yeah and from what I heard REALLY loved THE NAKED FISH! ;) LOL

*Jay Cutler... how I see this man every year and STILL MY JAW DROPS when I see him! I gotta say I've said before sometimes he comes off VERY arrogant...this year he was like the nicest, down to earth guy (maybe I've met him before while he's prepping (it does make a difference in MOOD lol)
My girlfriend Alanna is IN LOVE with him (I MEAN SERIOUSLY IN LOVE!) and when she went up for her 237th pic with him he totally recognized her and goes gotta update the scrap book huh? Her hands were shaking LOL

*Mike Katz was in a great mood and made me laugh quite a few times while Mcing! But the most touching part was when he said how proud he was of how New England has represented the sport of Bodybuilding... producing pros like Jay Cutler, Evan C, Victor Martinez (who was there too signing pics and meeting fans), Carla Salotti, Collette, Maggie Blanchard, Heidi Fletcher.
Then he talked about what a great job Dave F and Maggie were doing and passing the torch soon to Dave. Dave actually got choked up introducing his team... it was very touching.

Too often we hear the promoters and judges are only in it for the money or how every things rigged. This IMO comes from many who do not know much about the sport...there is very little money to be made...it's a HARD task, sometimes thankless, and MOST do it FOR THE LOVE of the sport. This was a clear perfect example of that passion and one of the reasons I believe this show is so highly respected!

*Lauren Notini passed out trophies, another Maggie Fit overall figure winner in 06 and is headed to Jr Nats, from where I was sitting she LOOKED RIGHT ON TRACK and fabulous! Hey Lauren if you're reading this, I know you posted on here (more specifically in my prep thread - which if anyone's wondering where it went, I got rid of it cause I couldn't keep up with my own journal LOL - you looked fab girl!)

*Will Brink : YOU kick ass man! And to any competitor if you ever want BLUNT HONEST feedback from someone with knowledge and experience in the sport ASK him - he will TELL you EXACTLY how he feels without cutting corners and I LOVE THAT!

*The IFBB pro ladies of the panel Ms. Blanchard, Fletcher, and Salotti KEPT very busy! But all looked BEAUTIFUL while working hard!

*At one point they had on stage for figure the 04 winner, the 05 winner, the 06 winner and the NEW OVERALL CHAMP - I hope Lori has that pic as it was a WONDERFUL LINE - UP!

OK off to eat... will update more later... so little overview - I want to say I AM NOT A NPC JUDGE only an enthused spectator, competitor, fan, and moderator for this board who wants to share the experience.

Have to say you fitness and figure peeps will be impressed! Now I am NO ONE lol we all have our opinions but I will say IMO THE JUDGING WAS SPOT ON!! I was HIGHLY IMPRESSED! I took notes and everything and MY top 3 for ALL CLASSES were right on AND so was my overall! The BB classes for males were sick big, they had to do three group split ups for the light heavies! Unfortunately, there were only 2 women BBs in the whole show... which is very low for this show. The pics are up on MD but the placements are not yet, but I do know top three for all figure classes and first for fitness and Super Heavies.

I was rushed all day and didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to with anyone, but all in all, it was a good show. Alot of hard work lol. I have some pics I will post up later.

And thank YOU for being an integral part of the event's success again this year, Lori. I thought the '08 edition was even better organized than last year's event. At first I was disappointed with the small size of the women's bodybuilding field this year; two competitors, a MW and HW. Both women are excellent bodybuilders though, and it's really amazing that anybody at all has the dedication and determination to prep and compete at that level. Anyway the crowd was really supportive of them. Whohoo! So it was a good show that has the potential to improve even more.

The New England's was indeed a wonderful show this year! I thought the figure girls all looked great! It was very unfortunate though to see only 2 bodybuilders!!! What's going on? This is making me want to switch even more now...but damit, I"m so small!
Dave, Maggie, Tony and Lori really go all out for our local shows. They really get the ball rolling!
I had the pleasure of sitting at the judge's table (my 2nd year testing) and it's some serious business I tell ya! I've learned a lot!
