Brian Robitaille, Doug Schneider & Steve Duperre recently resigned from the IDFA ( a Natural Fed in Canada www.idfa.ca (http://www.idfa.ca) ) to start a new physique Natural federation in Canada www.physiquecanada.ca (http://www.physiquecanada.ca):

Message from the President
Thursday, 01 December 2011

Greetings physique enthusiasts!

I am pleased to present to you the newest physique organization in Canada. Our mission statement says it all: we want to be the best physique organization out there.

We will have the best contests, attract the best drug-free athletes, give the best value to our sponsors, have the finest and most qualified judges, and have the most stringent doping control of any other group in the industry. Delivering on this promise is our focus. The great physiques that come out of our organization will have a truly international stage on which to perform: the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF (http://www.wbpsf.org/)), 90-plus countries and getting stronger every day!

If competitors do not wish to travel to the international level, our national-level events will provide them with the most prestigious stage in the country to compete on. Our first competition is on June 16 at the beautiful Canadian Museum of Civilization located in Gatineau, Quebec, which is directly beside Ottawa, Ontario, the nation's capital. Such a luxurious venue is fitting for our inaugural event.

We have in place a tier structure that allows competitors to begin at the appropriate level and then progress until they're onstage with the country's best physique stars. We will also be holding special regional events, inviting competitors from our neighboring United States and other nearby countries to compete on Canadian soil.

I believe we have a tremendous management team. Combined, we three have over 50 years experience in all facets of the fitness industry. We have the experience and talent to make Physique Canada the most successful physique organization on the scene today. Above all, our core values will always influence our way forward: integrity, professionalism, excellence, and innovation - it's who we are.

So join our team and allow us to present your physique in the best light.

Sincerely,
Brian Robitaille
President, Physique Canada

The UFE ( Another Natural Fed in Canada www.ufeshows.com (http://www.ufeshows.com) ) President Sean Everingham had this to say recently:

A Rant From the Prez

The 2011 contest season is now behind us and UFE finished our year with an electrifying display of the very best physiques in natural fitness at the UFE North American Championships. It's a show that was 4 years in the making and left everyone talking. We received resounding positive feedback and for that, we thank all of those who supported us.

I pride myself on being a competitor myself and someone with an ear to the industry so I can hear what fitness competitors are saying and, in turn, shape UFE into an organization that really is for them. With this same ear to the industry, I hear what is going on with other organizations and what is being said and I have to say, it's taken a lot to just focus on doing what I do, but those who know me, know I am a no BS guy and when I hear it going on, I have to address it, whether it's in my personal life or my professional life.

There are several organizations out there spouting BS. First, UFE takes our drug testing extemely seriously, not because we are anti-drug crusaders, but because we are simply very serious about giving natural competitors the same opportunities to compete and get opportunity in the industry in general as non-tested competitors. We conduct between 5-8 tests at each show, using the gold standard of testing, GC/MS testing. Our testing protocols can even detect common masking agents that competitors may use to "beat the system" and we post these lab reports online with the competitor that was tested and everything they were tested for. To our knowledge NO ONE goes to these same lengths so when I hear of organizations saying they have "the most stringent drug testing of any organization," I know this is a load of s***. I didn't get to this point in the industry by not knowing about it. I am well aware that "lie detection" is a load of s***. If they don't even allow lie detection results conducted by psychologists and lie detection specialists into a court of law, so who the heck is "Joe Blow" contest promoter or his supposed drug testing officer to say that it holds any weight as far as catching cheaters. Be aware of organizations that claim to use Olympic style testing, whether it's CCES in Canada or the equivalent in another country. UFE wanted to take this route at one time, but found out that to do so would mean we would have to suspend everyone who took ephedrine, even if it was to relieve a cold! We would have to suspend anyone who recreationally "puffed" if you know what I mean and we would have to make our athletes available for random testing at the drop of a dime. Furthermore, athletes that test positive for ANYTHING on the banned list (which would exclude athletes from being able to take many "on the shelf" sports supplements) would be published on the government website. So when these organizations claim that they use Olympic testing, see if ANYONE AT ALL appears on the CCES website or your country's equivalent. If you don't see anyone, then the organization is full of crap.

When a competition says they're going to have the biggest prizes, call them on it. I can tell you that UFE awards our PRO Champions $10,000 in cash and prizes that includes $2500 CASH, a 1 year sponsorship contract from Revolution Nutrition an $1800 photoshoot with a TOP industry photographer for direct submission to magazines and a $2500 custom body sculpt (the same ones awared to the Arnold Classic 2010 Champions) courtesy of Eaglewood Sculpts. People have seen for themselves that we have awarded these packages and all of our Champions can tell you that they have been paid on the spot with no BS terms of payment or requirement to work for that money. To our knowlege, no other natural organization touches that. Recently we learned that "The Cronus" which claimed to be the top natural show ever with the biggest cash prize ever ($10,000) failed to pay their champion even 1 cent!

Finally, I almost fall off my seat when I hear natural fitness organizations that claim to have the best stage to compete on with the best natural competitors. You know what, I'm not even going to go on about that myself...I want you to watch our video below and see for yourself the kind of competition we feature and the kind of effort we put into our production.

Some people might love this rant, others might think I've taken a negative tone, but to those people, understand that I have invested blood, sweat and tears to make UFE the very best natural organization in North America so this is something I take very personally. Whether you love me, hate me (but I hope you don't) or don't even know me, I can tell you that I founded UFE for the competitors and I KNOW we have delivered unto the industry the #1 natural fitness organization...and we can back it up!

I've said what I have to say, but I'm always happy to hear from YOU! Let me know what you think about what you read, ask me any questions you may have, call me out on something or just ask more about out events. I will be happy to respond to you and if your question or comment is interesting enough or relevant to a larger audience, I may just post it in our next newsletter or on our Facebook page and respond publicly!

Cheers!
Sean Everingham,
President Ultimate Fitness Eventshttp://myemail.constantcontact.com/UFE-President-s-Rant.html?soid=1101921109127&aid=a8YoVq7jKz8

Interesting news. No doubt there are bound to be some legitimate differences over the organization of competitive natural bodybuilding. Hopefully dedicated people will focus their talents on continuing to make it better.

I have become very cynical about all of this. Time will tell whether any of these people can walk their talk.

Most often the whole "tested" bit is marketing blather and not much more.

This is the first I've heard of it. Marketing fail.

I'm always skeptical too of all these new feds, Crystol.

It REALLY annoys me when new feds release statements proclaiming such great-sounding ideas, when in actuality we already have a dominating federation that provides such platform for athletes.

At the end of the day, the CBBF is still the biggest and here in Ontario our natural competitors are tested by CCES which there is NO cheating or way around that. Throw in the fact that we have an athletes whereabouts program, in other words, natural level competitors can be tested AT ANY TIME by CCES... not to mention the fact that we actually have a tiered system leading to IFBB PRO status on the NATURAL stage, where tests are done at each tier, local to national level.

I wont mention names of feds, but I know for a fact, as in I've seen with my own two eyes, that there are "pro" level athletes in other natural feds in Ontario who are 1000000% not natural, and there is NO testing done at shows although they claim there is... to me that is NOT FAIR to the athlete. And I am not talking about the CBBF or the WBFF, I'm talking about an org that CLAIMS to be "all natural".

BOTTOM LINE... If you are a natural competitor and are looking specifically for a natural fed or show to compete on make sure you do your research. Dont just read the press release and think OMG that sounds GREAT lol

To each their own... There is enough room for everyone to pick an organization that fits them best! :D

IDFA seems to be hit hard this year.... I noticed Nadine Young moved over to OPA and took home overall figure in London!

And in defense of UFE and Sean, I don't know him and I have never competed with them, but I have read some harsh comments made towards him by other organizations.... He's gone a long time without responding to some low blows.

It may sound naive but I just want everyone to get along! lol. If someone wants to compete with IDFA, UFE, WBFF, IFBB, etc etc etc it's their choice and I'm sure they have reasons for picking that organization! I personally can't wait to compete with OPA (already have my countdown on!!!!!!!!!!!!) but I am also going to compete with UFE at their spring bash to see what it's all about... And I will be at the WBFF worlds in Toronto!!!!!! I don't have a doubt that OPA is what I am looking for but I am very interested to see what the other organizations are about!!

There is enough room for all the organizations and for everyone to pick one that best suits them.... An IFBB pro card doesn't mean to some people what it may mean to others. Some people may just be in it to have fun and not necessarily care about the long term potential of the organization :)

Like I said... I just want everyone to get along!! I think it's important for each one to speak about what strengths/ opportunities they bring to the table so potential competitors can choose the most suitable, but that does not have to involve bringing down others to build themselves up.

You're right :)

At the end of the day, compete for fun and do what makes you happy :) that is all that matters!!

As a natural competitor I want to make sure the rules are fair though is all I'm saying. For me doing bikini its never been an issue though. If you think you're doing a tested natural show and are paying extra to do that, you should be "getting what you pay for" right.

Maybe it's Life...I don't know...

But in the Physique World at least...it seems like "The Devil That We Already Know" ends up being...maybe not so bad...
