Ok, so here I am, 3 weeks before my competition. I was invited to compete at the biggest show of the year, the Arnold Classic. After only 2 years of competition, I am gonna be competing against the best physiques in the world!

It’s a long and hard journey to get there. I have so many shoots and contracts booked before the show. Hard to focus!! My diet is really getting into me now. I will go for a leaner and harder look then the one I had at the 2007 Figure Universe (http://blog.bodybuilding.com/ProAmContests/2007/08/01/michele-levesque-2007-fitness-universe/). I just hope I make it to the top 10 so I can make the finals!!!

I heard there is a lot of politics at these big events so I have no clue what’s gonna happen. It’s my first time in an NPC show. They have never seen my face, so hopefully I will leave them a good impression. Like always, I go there with my head up straight, go there to have the best time of my life, have fun and be proud to be onstage!!!

They really need to give out pro cards since this is now an International event. :)

I agree with you many European women involved in Figure in Europe are quite muscular, especially women in the NABBA.

Thanks so much Sioux! You have been so supportive during these last 15 weeks! I know everyone says not to worry about placing but I hope I place well! I have trained the hardest I have ever trained, getting ready for this show and I am happier with my physique this year than I was last. Though my legs are holding a lot of muscle still.

Hi Anne, yes she started late.. this is after 5 weeks of dieting. But it was not long since she was competing so the fat was still very loos. And she has been working her ass off.. :p

......it seems the figure ladies over seas are harder and more muscular (I am a fan of that look for figure).



Funny how competitors often say that, yet the judges say that they will be rewarding a softer look (almost every year). Shouldn't the women be controlling the direction of figure? The bigger and harder the better, if you ask me, and it seems as if a lot of figger girls themselves prefer that.

Linda Fodor-Egelstig from Sweden has the type of physique that we feel should be rewarded on any stage, with the right combination of fullness, size, figure shape, and hardness. Add in Linda's beauty and we think she is definitely top three in Class A and may even challenge for the overall title. Linda took 2nd at the Amateur World Championships in 2006 and won Swedish Nationals in 2005. Her preparations for this show have been well documented thanks to her supportive husband..

Hi from New Zealand. Thanks so much for posting the new info on the forum regarding the arnold. It is kinda hard getting answers to alot of my questions but thanks to the forum boards I have been helped out heaps. I know know there is an early weigh in (thank god for that)
By the way, your forum is fantastic. Our forums over here are not very positive about female bodybuilding - at all, so it is fantastic to hear such postive comments regarding all the female competitors out there -whether bodybuilding, fitness or figure, pro or amatuer.

As some of you know, I got off to a late start due to some personal issues so my diet was started at six weeks out and I was very worried about my progress in the beginning stages of prep. All the stress involved had me extremely bloated making it hard to get off to a good start. The last couple of weeks have been much better with changes coming literally by the hour! I woke up this morning looking even better with veins in the lower abs!!!! I LOVE the last few weeks and watching things develop! My body always waits until the last minute to respond!

Here are some pics from Friday morning! Not gonna post anymore after these... you will just have to wait and see me at the show to see what comes in the last week!

I just started with Mike and I FREAKIN LOVE HIM!!! He knows his stuff like no other! Girl, not that you need the help cause you look awesome, but it really does pay off to get a trainer regardless of whether or not you are a trainer yourself. I used to be a trainer too but when I decided to compete, I broke down and hired someone and it was the best thing I ever did. Mike really is the man and what little time I have spent with him is really paying off for me... he is great.

Hey All!!

I can't remember everything, but this is what I do remember!!

In Class A- the 2 pics posted of the 2 girls in the 1piece black suit were in the 1st call outs in both 1piece and 2piece....can not remember there names.

Dixie Reynolds was the 1st call out in both 1piece and 2piece in her class. Andrea S.(Ondrea on MD) had a hard class and she was in the 2nd call out in both the 1piece and 2piece....there were 2 gurls in Andrea's class from South America who were very muscular (I believe they were from SA, not Mexico..the trainer sounded like he was speaking Portugese)...I wouldn't doubt it if they are doing bodybuilding also. But they were both in the 2nd call w/ Andrea also.

I want to say Kendra McAdams got 1st call outs also.

Qwana Crockett got 2nd call outs in her class for both 1piece and 2piece.

My gurl Klubo Rachel got 2nd call out in Class E, in both 1piece and 2piece.

I can't remember much of anything else b/c my eyes started hurting and it all became a blur...so many great physiques.

So anywho...the Arnold was great!! Oh, due to the low numbers every1 in fitness made it to the Finals.

Those pics are great.... Im not knocking last year's competitiors at all that competed in the Arnold Amt. - but this year's crop has taken it to the next level. These girls look amazing. I would bet that by next season this will be the first show of the year with some pro cards on the line. I can tell you that by these pics a few of the girls will have a pro card by year's end if they can last a few months of training and diets. I think in one of my post I mentioned that I wish I were in the mix.... I think I would have been lost in the crowd with such a showing.......:bowdown: you girls look great!!

In the IFBB amateur rules they have just changed that rule, and from this year it is allowed to have about 3inches or 10cm between hand and thighs.

At that seminar with Jim Rockell that I just attended several weeks ago, there were girls that they used as examples for posing. They were all suited up. Jim corrected each and every one's girl arms/elbows. He had them drop their arms down like how Andrea is posing.

I don't think they will get points deducted, but they are really try to keep figure and bb'ing separated.

I noticed there were several girls posing that way. From what Jim Rockell said at the seminar, that is the correct way to pose.

For one of the Figure classes (on Saturday, on the Expo stage), the officials actually made an announcement about this: Ladies, please relax your arms to your sides! Some of them had their hands about 4 feet apart. Even when they made the announcment, nobody onstage changed to a more relaxed position. I think someone must have coached them to pose that way ...
