Yes it was. Very unfortunate for many athletes that were well into there prep for this show. Nothing like the last minute. The IFBB was doing there best to work with the promoter but he couldn't get it together. For us Arizona residents it was a huge let down!!

Wow, I know a handful of peeps that were prepping for this show. What a shame. Have they announced this anywhere yet?

JM Manion posted it on his Facebook page a few hours ago I believe.

I just read about this. How disappointing to those training for this show. :banghead:

JM Manion posted it on his Facebook page a few hours ago I believe.

"I normally don't do this, but for all of you who flamed me on Facebook about the 2012 IFBB Phoenix Pro on 9/1 & blamed the IFBB Professional League for not putting up the contest on the calendar, I want to tell you all, "I told you so!" No, the IFBB Professional League isn't the BIG, BAD GUYS here. Take up your frustrations with the proposed promoter."

Wth what i know i would never plan for phx pro too many issues with finances, only 50-75?people in audience etc Until they can get it together to have npc with it, it will not be profitable

I listen to the beginning of the show (episode 168).......

Apparently a large check (25% of what Stryker needed for this show) from a sponsor didn't clear. He mentions he's working on having three pro shows next year, including one that is all female. :waving:

Sorry to hear that! At least it was not a Fitness pro show... there are already limited on what shows to compete in.....

But will the Pros trust him to do 3 next year? Especially the ones who were dieting and already have flights booked. Is it worth the risk he will cancel again? He's a nice guy, but I wonder how many will just say no thanks, not worth the chance when there are other more "stable" shows to do.

I'm sorry but that is not an excuse to cancel a show. You cannot run a business based upon one client.... if you do then, as the wind blows, so does your business.
This is a one-legged stool. Not stable.

See, that's bullshit. In fact, it even *sounds* like bullshit, meaning he made no efforts to conceal the fact that it's bullshit. Bad checks happen, but since this alleged sponsor didn't cover the check, it most likely means they never wanted to help support the show in the first place...assuming they even exist.

Exactly.

And haven't numerous people told him this *and* offered to help him make it happen??

I remember the ticket prices being insane for this show, so I couldn't go.

I was at the show last year, nobody in the audience, it was running at the same time as a state level bodybuilding show at the venue next to it, I couldn't figure out why they didnt run them together as the state show was packed with people.

They were two different feds. The state show was not NPC.

Well, at least THIS time, the promoter isn't blaming the fitness pros for his poor turnout:LOLOL:
