View Full Version : 10 Weeks out from my first figure show...

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post here but I'm looking forward to being here for a while. Big thanks to IslandGirl for the invite. I could really use some feedback from some of you seasoned pros! I'm 10 weeks out from my first ever figure show. Here is a set of pics of me doing the mandatories and I would really appreciate it if I could get some good and honest criticism. Right now my back pose absolutely sucks but I'm working on it :) Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Ana! :waving:

You look great for 10 weeks out. How big of a local show is this?

How long have you been working out?

Are you a client of Trace, and Cam's?

I'm not an expert. I'm sure the women here will be more helpful.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I've been training with my husband for about 3 years but only really got serious about diet in the past year. We love training together and I figured as much hard work as we put in I might as try a competition. He is doing my prep for me, this is his first time doing it so he's a bit nervous too! Hopefully I can convince him to join me on stage sometime soon as well :)

I'd be happy to post up our routine and my diet if that's of any help. I feel like we're on track but I've never done this before so I can never be sure. I'll have lots of logistical questions as well. I don't really know what goes on backstage and what I can and can't do yet.

We live in a small town in Louisiana so there isn't a lot of access to local pro's or even competitors at all. We moved down here last year from the Washington DC area so it's a big change but I love it. We have three young children (6,4,and 2!) and this is such a great place to raise a family.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all. Thanks again!

I forgot to mention I'm doing the NPC Greater Gulf States Figure Championship in New Orleans. It's close enough to home and it's a national qualifier which may or may not have been a good idea for a first show but so be it. I'd like to see how I stack up :)

awesome... i LOVE NOLA..... i think its an ok idea but then again i am ALL about throwing yourself out there.. just be sure to speak with the judges after the show and take ALL the feedback you can get....

you look absolutely AMAZING!!! not only are you VERY pretty, but your body doesn't have any flaws.....your legs/butt are gorgeous, you have nice wide shoulders, good arms, good back....everything looks REALLY good! just stick to your diet and practice your posing (it isn't bad at all....but you have to be able to SHOW them what you have and that you look better than anyone else ;)) and you will do great!!!!:awesome::)

p.s. where do you live in louisiana? we are from houma....born and raised.

Thank you all for the positive feedback- it definitely boosts my confidence! My husband has been working with me on the posing every night, and we seem to make some great improvements with every session. I've received some great advice which has helped tremendously, so as show time gets closer, I'm sure I'll continue posting and asking more questions. I plan to post updates every one to two weeks as well, to show my progress and ask for feedback.

Melissa, I'm living in Monroe. My husband is from here, and we moved down here trying to escape the rat race in the DC suburbs. I saw you at the Europa last year (we stayed in the host hotel). Will you be there again this year? My husband and I loved it, and plan to go again. If I see you, I'll definitely have to introduce myself :)
