Default Coming out of hiding!

I just wanted to say hello & introduce myself to everyone. I believe I have posted before but I did not keep up with it. My name is Josie (or Jojo). I'm 29 & finally putting together plans to compete next year in the bikini division. After gaining some unnecessary pounds from stress of a failed relationship, I started hitting the gym hard & watched my portions. I have lost 17 pounds in the past 2.5 months. I'm looking forward to cleaning up my food choices & hitting the gym hard as I prepare to compete in April.

I have always enjoyed reading & learning from everyone on here. I plan on posting here more often so it will help keep me accountable during my journey. Hope I get to chat with some of you & learn from you!

I forgot about that account. My ex had some fun with that one so I do not even know what posted under that. Such a bad time in my life. My apologies for anything that happened under it I do not even remember what the username was so if you know it, feel free to delete it.

Sadly, I had an old knee injury flare up a couple weeks back. I have been unable to do any cardio since then. I have slowly started cardio back up this week with minimal pain. So it is uncertain if I will be ready for the Kalamazoo show now. I'm looking at another show in Grand Rapids in May as a possibility since it gives me more time to be ready.

Thanks for checking in on me. I did get down on myself because of the injury but I have stayed on diet & continued my upper body workouts while I let my knee heal.

I'm hanging in there & hope my knee continues to heal at its current rate.

Wow, you have the worst luck.

Well keep it up, a lot can still happen if you follow a diet.
Have you tried just walking on the treadmill at an incline? That might be easy on your knee (I'm assuming you are still able to walk)

The GR show is a great one. Well run and the Neils Anderson Trophies. This year however, it's not a NQ.

Michelle welcome had leg issues and started doing water cardio. She has videos up. Check her thread on here. Might give you ideas.

I had to completely rest my knee when i was not working because I am on my feet at work all day. I had to be able to do my job above anything else. I did take my fur babies for a hour walk today with no pain so it's a step in the right direction.

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the GR show. I will be content with walking on stage & feeling like I belong in the lineup of bikini girls. That's my ultimate goal right now. If I place, then that is icing on the cake.

I am still making positive progress (losing inches, firming up, leaning out, etc) so I hope to be ready in 10 weeks or so.

How would I go about starting a journal here? I would love to have something additional that would keep me accountable as well.

Hope you got to enjoy this beautiful weather today, Becca. I can get use to this.
