Another hair question
Moroccan Oil is da bomb! http://moroccanoil.com/products
I just started using this and can already tell a difference in my hair. A friend commented saying my hair looked so shiny, but not oily looking. It's a little on the pricey side, so I use the shampoo and conditioner every other time I shampoo and the oil I apply after I wash my hair, but a little goes a long way. The oil does come in a glass bottle so be careful.

No it's not the same... you're right... but I'm not spending $50 on a bottle of oil when I can get a product that's similar for $10.
I also use straight up olive oil and almond oil for shine and conditioning.

My stylist swears by that stuff. A little pricey for me, but I'm saving my dimes.
I have been using the oil Shawn mentioned... not bad.

I tried argon oil from Sally's Beauty and it worked. But the moroccan stuff is much better.
I have never tried olive oil and almond oil. I'll try it.

be careful if you're a blonde. use too much, too often and you'll get brassy.
josie marin has a pure argon oil product that is great for everything from hair, to skin, etc.. also pricey but you can find it on ebay much cheaper, same with moroccan oil. i swear you can find anything on ebay

I have an olive oil spray I use for shine once my hair is styled.
Then the almond oil; you put it on your hair before you go to bed at night, wrap it in a loose bun and sleep on it then wash it out in the morning. Your hair will be silky soft the next day.

Good lord, ShawnCarla! You are HOT! Love that pic!
Do you think the Moracan or Argon will have the same effect on African-American hair for shine? I usually use Olive Oil but want to try something different when I condition my hair tomorrow. Olive oil can sometimes make my hair look oily, but it moisturizes so well.

I use it on my hair occasionally and it's amazing. Unfortunately for me my hair too long/thick and it's too expensive for me to make using it a regular habit. You should definitely give it a try.

oh I just love Argan Morroccan oil! I used to use it on my skin when I was pregnant and it would relieve that itchy scratchy feeling, and then later after surgery to ease scarring. But this year my little sister, who is a licensed cosmetologist used it while styling my hair and it was like a complete remedy for my brittle, dry hair. I usually have a thick mane, but styling and going to the gym can leave it dull and stripped feeling with continuous washes and such. A little does go a long way, but I'm awful at the "dime size" amount rule! lol

I use the Awapui/Argan Oil blend or the Coconut Silk blend by Organix...I just picke dit up in Walmart one day to try it out, and it is definitely a close second to CHI's Silk Infusion Serum! Give it a try if you haven't already.

FOR THE ORGANIX AWAUPI GINGER OIL
I surly would start experimenting with any new product in advance to see how your hair plays. I have amixed background; Spaniard, puertorican and european. My hair is thick and has tight waves. After combing my hair in the shower, I flip it and wrap it for about 10 min, then I put a couple drops in my palm massage it in my hands and scrunch my hair and lightly rub it in. As my hair drys, it locks the wave curls and give a great shine. I do the same if I am going to blow straight or flat iron. Some times I add a little more as I am straightening.
Just start small, you can always add (like salt)
My cousin who is morena turned me onto it
