I have to agree, when they turn to the back, it should be game over. That girls glutes and legs from the back are far superior.

I think we all agree the woman has the superior physique. I'm just trying to make sense of why she was not awarded 1st. I do hope she sticks to competing, as she looks awesome!

Confused are a lot of athletes. Note not bodies (that`s what the judges call us)!!!!
The WPD was supposed to be FBB of the 80`s right.
and if hard and ripped came to mind would be punished!
this girl could have had an different suit yes....but it`s about her physique not her suit...!! she is what the WPD was promised to be! the other girl looks like a Figure athlete.
It seems like a figure contest only they are allowed to pose...
Do not know why they made a new divison....or at least they say it`s a new division.
The Figure girls here in Europe have to do poses and yes this is IFBB....
Guess they have "invented" a new division which was already there.....!!!
same thing as Figure....IFBB made a whole fuss about it but NABBA had it for ages!

And for me too! After having competed in NABBA figure for many years, it's really hard to stop making comparisons which really isn't fair since these NABBA figure is totally different to NPC/IFBB Figure and Physique. I'll always be a fan of NABBA figure and their posing (of the 90s look anyway… the early 2000s saw the girls come in too big and too hard which has also had an effect on their faces which is not so good imo)

I have to agree with what she just said. Everyone is confused from 1st time WPD am to the Pro's. They said, "+20% muscle than figure" & "80's WBB" but all that has been awarded so far is a lengthy strung out MAYBE more fuller FIGURE competitor. Once again they don't have a fixed target for what they want. Just like in Figure...and Bikini. Cant be to surprised.

*type of carb up (or not carb up) resulting in looser appearing skin over flat muscles
*type of competition diet
*use of pharmaceutical diuretics
As bodybuilders we are used to separating our worth as a woman from our package as a competitor otherwise it's impossible to improve (if you take critique personally). I always tell my clients that as women they are more than perfect, but when you enter a physique competition you are putting yourself into a different category with the need to separate your emotions from your 'package' or physique on stage. So hope I didn't offend anyone, it's simply a term to describe a certain 'look' or conditioning.
I believe bodybuilders will find the term I used makes more sense as our goal is much more affected by the tiny things we do the week before and at a lower fat than figure/fitness, we have more terms to describe areas we need to refine to that perfect 'look'. For example, being 'stringy' could be affected or improved by a different carb-up protocal, but then you run the risk of 'smoothing' out which is at the opposite end of the spectrum. (phrases we use when evaluating our plan and results!)
Hope that clears up the term I used a little bit.

It's a total confusion about what the standard will be at a show.
It`s simple if you make a lot of athletes confused they will try in the beginning but after one or two shows they give up because there's still no standard or guidelines the judges will follow
Why don't they make it easy on the athletes by saying the physique of; Cory Everson is the standard, or the great Anja Langer?Or do they want to see Kiki Eloma as an example or Carla Dunlap, they where all fantastic 80's athletes, if the standard would be one of those athletes then we athletes can compare this with the muscularity, shape, conditioning, posing etc etc we bring and see if the catagory we want to compete in is right for us.
It can be easy if they just pick an example...... you might think after all these years they might learn of there mistakes....but no they keep us,athletes, in the dark and let us keep our hopes for better times.....

I will point out the current problem with physique that the IFBB is missing, would you rather look like first or second place? Dana Linn or the Brazilian girl who won?
