Default Hotel Advice

The Orleans isn't terribly close to the Convention Center. I was hoping to find something alot closer, like within walking distance if possible. And less than $100 per night. Anyone have any suggestions based on their experience?

the monorail goes right to the convention center and you can stay anywhere on the strip that the rail would attach to!!!

Thanks Lisa! I've never been to the Olympia but I assume that people stay all over the place so it really doesn't matter. I'm going for cheap and convenient to the Convention Center.

There is a free shuttle to the Orleans from the expo. The Orleans is $45 a night except Friday and Saturday so it averages out...

Do NOT rely on the shuttle to get you there when you need to be there. That would be a huge mistake. Just sayin'...

The only thing at the convention center is the exhibition and women's prejudging, everything else is at the Orleans. Some people say the Orleans smells but I've always thought it was nice enough.

Yeah, I'm going with something near the Convention Center. I don't want to have to rely on any shuttles. I'm competing at the powerlifting meet, and that's at the Conv Center too.

LOL I know! But she's not planning on having a place of her own by the Olympia...otherwise, we'd totally be shacking up with her!

just make sure to pick the hotels "near east of strip" to get one close to the convention center. And I suggest to pick 3 stars or higher. I once picked a 2.5 star hotel and was disappointed. I've loved all the 3 + star hotels they've given me.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking but I have heard hotels in the USA are usually better than hotels in eastern Europe. For instance they all have private bathrooms.

If I was on a very tight budgets I would use www.hotwire.com to get a hotel and a rental car. I reserved a rental car for $15.95 a day for the Olympia. You should be able to get a cheap hotel for around $20 -$30 a day. Since you will have a car you can stay anywhere in Las Vegas and get around pretty easily.

Wow glad I did it last week. I see it's $19.95 a day now. You can always try to name your own price on priceline. Sometimes i get it for a few bucks a day cheaper there. Good luck.

oh and btw, they usually add all kinds of fees to it afterwards that adds about $10 a day if that's what you mean.
