St. Louis woman places in national bodybuilding competition

(KMOV) -- Think you're addicted to working out? You haven't met Jennifer Richards.
Richards hits the gym five to six times a week, lifting weights and doing cardio exercises. Richards, who grew up in Granite City and now lives in south St. Louis, says she's become addicted to the lifestyle of a bodybuilder. She's hoping to someday win a national figure competition and earn certification to compete as a professional.
She recently competed in the 2010 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships in Atlanta and finished eighth. She was disappointed in that result after being ranked in the top five most of the year, but says she understands that in a subjective sport anything can happen.
Richards, an engineer at Boeing working on the F-18 fighter jet, says she's now more determined than ever to win the next national competition, and achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a professional figure competitor.
