Reminds me of when i was wrestling in highschool and had to wear a trashbag running up and down the stairs to loose the weight so I can qualify in my weight class. It is not recommended nowadays.

Hi Holly! Good luck at the Masters. Love your avi. (Amir pic?) Where in OH do you live? Do you train with Mike Davies too?

Hey girl!
Yes, I live in Ohio, right outside of Columbus. My avi is a pic by Amir, he's awesome. I've done two photo shoots with him. I do not train with Davies. I train myself and do all my own diets. My husband is a personal chef with a biology degree, so he cooks all my food and sets up my training schedule.
I'm wondering if musculardevelopment will be covering the show? I should email Dan Ray.
Happy Friday!

H

Yes, Bill Comstock will be covering it for MD.com.

How is it determined who gets a pro card? Just curious about this.

I meant how is it determined that only over 35 bodybuilding and figure get pro cards? What about fitness, etc? Do these overall winners get pro cards too?

There is no Masters Fitness. I cringe to see a 45 year old woman doing back handsprings. Fitness, like gymnastics, is a younger woman's sport. Risk of injury, etc.
Also, the women's Over 50 and Over 60 winners do not get pro cards....and the Pro Card for the Over 35 is only a few years old.

Welcome, Tracy!
The winner of the over 35 only receives a pro card.
From the promoters site............
Quote:

I mean no disrespect towards you, but I resent your comment and think you are generalizing all 45+ year old women when you say this. That is not a valid comment for fitness competitors any more than it be for long distance runners, karate participants, etc. I imagine there are folks out there who feel older women should hang up their lifting gloves because it is considered a sport for the younger set. I'm 51 years old and one test shy of my black belt and believe me, it's not an easy feat to achieve no matter what age you are. Flexibility, strength and pure agility play a huge part in karate. I will proudly, and without any shame, admit I am in better shape than most 20 year olds. So please be careful not to lump all us "older" women into a particular category.

I'm an NJNPC judge and I have to admit one of the most beautiful and complete figure competitors I have judged was over 50...I could hear her family cheering "GO GRANDMA!"
...no age is definitley NOT a definition of what a woman (or man) can be.
