Taco Bell Using Filler Instead of Beef

So I heard on the news yesterday that Taco Bell is being sued because 36% of the substance they are marketing as seasoned beef or seasoned ground beef actually contains meat

soooooo gross....and scary too! Makes you wonder why our country has so many health problems. Whatever happened to REAL FOOD?

I saw a video about this on CNN too last night. That's gross.

What's astounding is that many people would never have been able to tell the difference anyway with all the salt, fat and grease in there.

Ironically, I was waiting for your SOTU address to start, and was watching new vids in the meantime. When Obama mentioned that their "food is safe to eat...", I recalled this Taco Bell piece...

What's next? I'm waiting to hear that a fast food joint would be adding sawdust to their menu...

Ewww... I thought their beef always tasted a bit... "powdery" to me. I could never describe it, but it had a bad texture.

Disgusting. What exactly is in 'filler' anyway??

I won't lie, I prefer Taco Bell over most other fast food, (though I don't get it often) - but i have NEVER liked their beef. I probably haven't had it since I was a teenager I do like their steak and chicken stuff though....

I heard this on NPR yesterday and the company filing the lawsuit tested the "filler" (gross) and the other 65% is oats, wheat, etc.

I'm not even surprised!!!

I actually used to really like the chicken soft tacos, and the quesadillas. I haven't had it in years... there arent any by my house. But never a beef fan... barf

This is what one of the news articles said about the other 65%:

"Attorney Dee Miles said the meat mixture contained just 35 percent beef, with the remaining 65 percent containing water, wheat oats, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent and modified corn starch."

What on earth is an anti-dusting agent?
