Alicia Harris 14th?
One of the big surprises this evening was Alicia Harris placing 14th out of 16 women at the Figure International. She placed 6th at the 2010 Figure Olympia.
Was she just not as tight as she was at the O?
First 3 photos are her at the 2011 Figure International.
Second 3 photos are her at the 2010 Figure Olympia.

She doesn't look as conditioned, but her posing looks better.

She did have a softer conditioning from the Arnold, but when you compare her to some of the competitors that placed higher than her, she still came up way on top. I'm thinking specifically Larissa and Jen Gates who both looked great, but were way too hard for what they currently want for figure. She isn't THAT much softer than Erin or Nicole to the point where that would be a big factor IMHO. She def should/could have been top 6-10 at the very least with how she came in this evening.
Her overall presentation (suit color/stoning, etc) was much stronger at the Olympia as well. When she came out tonight I felt like she did have a little something missing which may have led to her being overlooked. However, she looked good tonight, and definitely didn't deserve a 14th place, that's for sure!

I really liked the color of her Arnold suit, though I suppose I see what you're saying about the stoning. However, her hair and makeup looked perfect tonight and better than it did at the Olympia, IMO. Her posing was much improved this time around, as well.
Alicia has one of my favorite physiques and I'm always sad to see her place lower than what I feel she deserves.

Something to me did look fresher/brighter at the Olympia. Still MUCH higher than 14th. She looked at least top 5.

Latisha always deserves better than her placings. On this day, so did Alicia and Teresa.
Is it me, or were there no calves in this show?

I like Alicia's physique, but it was just a really tight show and I didn't think she had the WOW that she has had at other shows and other girls did have last night. ?? I hate to say it, but I didn't really notice her when I was watching prejudging.
Also, I still think that most shows seem to rank up to about 8th-10th place, then everybody just gets thrown in wherever without any sensible order.
I hate the skinny calves trend. I love a good shapely set of calves!!

It's tough to 'wow' people anymore when you're perfect (even though I know many will cringe at the use of that term).
Alicia is intelligent, extremely well-spoken, drop-dead gorgeous, HEALTHY-LOOKING, and she has perfect teeth. If, as an industry, you cannot sell that, then you aren't even trying.
Just sayin'...or not sayin', perhaps, but I'm sure some of you can read between the lines.

x2 at Bolded. LOVE HER. Beautiful year round.
I am reading between the lines and I get your jist I think...but I disagree that is the reason. She is gorgeous and one of my all time favorites also - and has everything you mentioned - but I think the reason she didn't place top 5 isn't anything AGAINST her, it's just that the other girls are given more attention/consideration for whatever reason.
Cheryl Brown placed top 5....

Ahhh! Alicia is one of my favs! I think that she has the body type that looks better and is more stunning harder and more conditioned and it seems that everybody softened up considerably! I feel that the softer look doesn't suit Alicia and it penalized her. Even Erin and Ava came in softer and smaller. Should be interesting to see how judging goes the rest of the year...

wellll
after looking at the comparisons... she did bring in a softer look for this show. she was definitely much tighter at the olympia. i dont think that she should have gotten 14th place. Top10 at best. Her posing was definitely a lot better at the Arnold, which makes a difference. She has the look and everything else to be a champ. I think also there are a lot of other girls that are getting stiffed.
I understand the whole Nicole vs Erin thing... kind of like Jay vs Ronnie, Iris vs Yaxeni... but there are way too many good pros that invest so much of themselves mentally, physically, emotionally and financially to put them at the bottom of the list like that or not give them the opportunity to achieve the same height of success that some of the same top pros that we have seen win over and over again over the years. I know everyone has to pay their dues... Im rambling , but i hope i made my point.
