IMO, she doesn't look too lean or dehydrated in those pics.
She looks full & round, and conditioning looks just right, but she was leaner & bigger than the winner of her class.

You think?? I know what they were rewarding in '06 and on average the girls were much more conditioned than both Ava and the class winner you have pictured. Not to speak negatively about the entire class, but I'm very surprised that competitor won you have pictured....I guess I'd have to see pics of all the callouts.

Call outs of Ava's class can be found here..............
They didn't cover the shows back then, like they do now unfortunately.
I don't know why Ava placed where she did. The winner has a better V taper, but that is about it IMO.
Yes on average the women were more lean. The winner was Elizabeth Lamm.

To be honest I stopped buying Oxygen due to its lack of IFBB/NPC coverage. Plus the mag is obsessed with three or four girls, and it's like the articles just bleed their presence. Nothing against those girls, it's just so biased its hard to read and enjoy. Just my two cents.
Agreed. I too have nothing against the few favorite girls the magazine promotes, but I become bored with the monotony & lack of variety. I feel M&F Hers has much more variety in terms of cover models and article highlights

Are you now saying she was *not* denied entry to an NPC event, but instead made that choice on her own?
She had to sit out a period of time before she could be "reinstated" in the NPC. Meaning not compete in the other organization that she was a "pro" in. You can't flip flop from an amateur in the NPC then go pro in one organization and come back to wanting to be an amateur in the NPC unless you petition to be reinstated through Mr. Jim Manion.

I know of several competitors who compete back/forth between NPC and IFPA on a regular. Was asking Ava to be "reinstated" more so due to her huge success in the other orgs? Or is it just impossible to keep up with everyone.

You'd have to ask her.
I've never even heard of IFPA. I'm sure there are a number of other alphabet soup organizations out there.
To be honest, it was when she was with WBFF that I really noticed her & she became one of my favorites.
I first noticed her via BB.com. I didn't even know she joined the WBFF in 2009.

diva is one of their competition Categories. I really just think it is a term they use to market their females.
Yeah! like on their website, it has a ton of hotties listed under "WBFF DIVAS"! They have pics and bios too I believe. Its a pretty unique way to showcase athletes, IMO. I have seen some negative reactions to it but personally I think as long as the woman is good with it than good for her and good for the WBFF. They are all about promoting their girls so why not do it on their website right?
I had seen Mariza Prinze on there too actually at one point, and Mary Jarmolowich (who took 2nd to Amanda Latona at the 2009 Flex Bikini). I didnt think either had competed with WBFF (I may be wrong) but its still promotion for them either way right.

I saw somewhere, a LONG time ago, that someone was making negative comments about women being referred to as "Divas" instead of "Athletes" and that the pictures were "too sexy" and "suggestive".
I disagree with those comments, but several others were agreeing. I think this was on the bb.com forums, maybe 1-2 yrs ago. I remember seeing it when I was first researching orgs before I started competing. I always thought the chicks were smokin hot. lol not gonna lie!
Personally, I think that its up to the girls or guys right. If you prefer to be labeled an "athlete" instead of a diva, then dont put your pic there. I'm sure they'd promote u in other ways right. To each their own.
Its just another outlet for their girls/guys to get exposure. The sexy pics or being called a diva doesnt bother me at all, #1 because I am a diva, LOL, and #2 because I would take those pics and post them. Its not like their PORN. lol Some ppl are prudes. :P
