Heard this on the radio on my way to work this AM - for the first time in YEARS. Love Eric Clapton, always have...but this song is even more sad to me now with Dad being gone.
Got me thinking of other songs that can evoke emotion. I always relate songs with eras of my life/memories. Do you? What are yours? Here are a few of mine.
It's a good song, even though I'm not a huge Celine Dion fan. I think the song itself is better when you don't watch the video...but that's just me.
and this one, mine and dad's song (he was a huge Lynrd Skynrd fan, pre plane crash)
This reminds me of one of my friends. I recall him trying to remember all the words to the song, and he got me to memorize it too.
We lost touch a few years later. And the strangest thing happen I saw him again over 20 years later in my apartment's laundry room. The odds of that happening freaks me out to this day. I don't know if he recognized me, but I was in shock thinking "no, it just looks like him, it can't be him". I later proved it was him lol. Nope, I never met him again.

I have a lot of songs that whenever I hear they remind me of certain events or times, phases in my life I went through. Sometimes good sometimes bad. Music can help people heal and overcome difficult periods in life, IMO.

OMG! So when you saw him in your aprtment laundry room, you didn't speak?
I wonder if you will ever cross paths again.

He said something about the laundry lol, but nothing else. I looked at it logically and told myself this can not be him, it is far more likely he is someone who reminds me of him. I did some snooping later lol and proved to myself it was him. It was one in a 100,000 I suppose.

Ok, this song too. It reminds me of my youth. I think this song was high on the charts the summer after I got my driver's license. I remember driving around in Florida on Summer break with my cousin and my best friend, we went to Busch Garden's, Universal Studios, etc - all those things, Daytona beach - best summer ever, so carefree...
The video itself sucks though. I realize that now LOL. The song is good if you close your eyes!

Not really a song but and artist. If any of you know who Jeremy Camp is, he is a contemporary Christian artist. If I hear his voice period it runs a chance of bringing me to tears.
Long story short, a very close friend of mine named Melissa married Jeremy in October of 2000. She passed away from ovarian cancer in February 2001. Jeremy was a close friend but moved to Nashville to further his music career. Have only seen him a couple of times since then, sometimes when I hear his voice it just gets to me. Especially this song:

I'm with you here 100% Lauren.
My friends and family laugh at me about my eclectic collection of music.
I literally go from "Kool and the Gang", "Lynard Skynard" and "Boz Skaggs"...and from "The Temptations","Earth, Wind and Fire", "Michael Bluble" and "John Mayer"...to "The Carpenters".
There is even a fair amount of Country thrown in! ("Bring on the Rain" by Jodee Messina brings back a trying time in my Life).
I can take each artist; listen to select songs; and be taken back to certain times and phases in my Life...each with their own meaning.
Love; failure; triumph; joy...music has, and will always be, an important part of my Life.
How do you post the YouTube videos like you guys have done? (I've tried a few times with no luck! )

Hey Mufasa -
When you are at the video on you tube, go to the URL and copy the last part of the URL that starts AFTER the = sign. Then paste it between the YOUTUBE tags (red button above when creating a post)
Played at the funeral of a young patient who had known a hard Life. There was not one dry eye in the Church.I can hardly listen to it to this day
A Love that I will never forget. (We broke up at Christmas)
Michael Bluble is starting to solidify some memories for me. (Me, Christmas and Love, I guess...)
AH! "Gettin' Down On It"! (Growing up!)
Another memory of the Wild and Carefree days of growing up! (Momma HATED to hear this playing)!
I REALLY Don't Know how I ever studied or even how we got together! Another Wild memory, of that one crazy, "out-of-control" relationship a lot of us have probably had. I'll never forget her either; and this will be "our song". (Played it traveling the mountain roads of NC!)
Will always remind me of my Late older sister. She loved "Old School" Motown. (Especially Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell). This is one of her favorites. (I miss her as I type this).
