Hi, everyone.
I'm Lauren (sometimes known as LaLa.) Didances directed me over here. We're part of the same group on FB. After a turn of recent events and change in, uhm, group mentality, she thought I might like being here better.
So, here I am.
I'm 34. From Georgia. Married. Four Sons (ages 17, 15, 13, 12 - they're my step-kids, but "mine" in most senses of the word.) BabyMamaDrama is an entire thread by itself.
"Sort of" did I.F. (Intermittent Fasting) for about a minute. "Inconsistently" been doing StrongLifts since July-ish. No cardio to speak of. Completed a half ironman (70.3) in September 2010 and then basically took the next 15 months "off."
Gained 20 pounds (and I was already overweight). Here comes the brutal honest part: Currently 170# (5' 2") and 42% body fat (had it checked in a BodyPod on Tuesday). Just put on high blood pressure medicine by my MD. Told to eat "all white meat, fruits and veggies and whole grain bread every 3 hours and 30 minutes of cardio at least 3 times a week," to get the weight off - so I can come off the bp medicine. I sporadically do crossfit.
Goal: I don't really have any aspirations of competing. I simply want to be "that girl" in the gym. I want to be fit. Healthy. Normal weight. I wouldn't mind having kick ass lifting #s either (Current: 1RM bench: 125, 1RM squat: 205, 1RM dead: 225)
So, yeah. Here I am.
