I would have placed Jami DeBernard in 1st......

Jami DeBernard placed 4th this past weekend at the IFBB California Governors Cup Pro Figure, but looking at photos I would have had her in 1st place. What is it that kept her out of the top 3?

My first thought, looking at the picks, is that she is a bit bigger and harder than the top 3?

Yes she is. I don't know if Jami has added muscle, or she just looks bigger standing next to these women. She appears to have the best symmetry and proportion in the above line up to me. If she got any leaner for the above show, she'd probably be to lean right? Here she is next to Candice Keene at last year's IFBB Phoenix Pro......

that was my thought too..

I was surprised Heather won! Krissy looked good enough for first in my eyes as well.

I gotta agree - based on photos (only on photos though) I would have placed Jami 1st - she easily has best structure, x-frame, proportions and symmetry in TOP 5 while the many in TOP had some issues with these areas. And IMO Jami wasnt that muscular or ripped that just bc of that, judges would have needed to judge her down. Weird and sad.

Sometimes (not always) it feels like figure is only judging down size and conditioning and at the same time, they forget the other factors in judging criteria... (oh so many times A-frames awarded over x-frames).

Based on pics of the top 5 I would have had Jami in 1st, Krissy 2nd, Carin 3rd, Heather 4th, & Allison 5th. How about you?

I did put on some muscle training hard during my off season. I'll get feedback from Coach Kim & the judges and keep refining the package I bring to the stage.

My guess is that they are trying to make a clear line between Figure and WP. In this line-up, Jamie is the tightest and biggest. She probably would have looked more "a part" of the top girls on the WP line up.
Not saying this is a bad thing at all BTW, Jamie.
I'm just saying that since they are going with a bit of a smaller look in WP then most here were expecting them to, it only makes sense they would start going for smaller Figure competitors to make that line clearer.
