Default Hey all... I am new to this CALORIES

Hey all I am new to figure.

I recently got a figure coach ( last week) talk about new! and I am wondering in off season how many calories do most of you consume????

or how many ( guess) I should shoot for.

Me: 5-4 125 11 percent body fat I work out 6 days a week with my trainer for an hour.

First show in April 2009. I also understand I need to limit cardio. I currently do 15 mins a day on the elliptical.

Any tips would help!!!!

Janelle

Hi Janelle!! Welcome 2 SC!! For me personally, in the off-season I maintain the same diet as far as the protein intake. My carb intake increases but that's usually more oatmeal and sweet potatoes. I'm pretty sensitive to all other carbs (ie any breads, white rice/potatoes) and put on fat very easily so I can't go overboard. I try not to have any more than 1 cheat meal a week...bu that can get hard.

What exactly has your trainer instructed you to do as far as diet.

I would listen to what your trainer says as well, but for me personally I do the same as mentioned above, keep a clean diet 90% of the time just adding in more carbs and a weekly cheat and aiming for between 12-15 x my body weight.

hey girl

i must say that you should consult with your trainer (or is he/she just a figurw coach) to help you in your offseason.

You will learn that on here every girl is different in how they handle their offseasons. Some girls like Kenyatta, need to maintain a similar amt of calories all year round...and that works for them!

Others, like me, need to consume about double the calories in the offseason to make proper gains and hold onto my muscle!!!

It seems you have plenty of time to figure out what works for you! good luck!!

Hi Janelle. Aloha and welcome to SC.

In regards to how many calories to consume in the off-season. It all depends on the individual and what your goals are. For me in the off-season, I am trying to build muscle. So i consume at least 3500 calories on an average. I have gone up as high as 4000+, but that may have been just extra shakes or 1 or 2 extra carb portions.

You have hired someone so I would just listen to that person. It is okay to ask questions, just as long as you do not get confused because remember...everyone is different and reacts differently as well.

Good luck and we're glad to have you here.
