Carbs are kicking my ass!
Yikes! Night sweats, rapid heartbeat....I can't handle them after 16 weeks of keto.

Are you bringing them back in slow? maybe your body needs to take them more gradually. I am very carb sensitive and since my shows i think they have all settled in my belly and ass!!!!! lol

Of course I'm not bringing them back in slowly
I had a 2 day binge fest and am paying for it now. I did have a post-comp plan, but I have yet to actually follow it.
Tomorrow will be better.
Even small amounts of carbs are giving me a weird reaction. I'm very carb sensitive too, so I'm going to watch it. I'd like to have just one ass... at least until it's cold enough to cover up two.

I am gonna agree with the others that it could be the carbs just kicking your metabolism up a notch, I know after being in keto a while it can cause some people metabolisms to slow or come too a halt.

LOL if it makes you feel any better, I didn't do a keto diet and I am having the same problem. I had terrible nightmares and night sweats Sat and Sunday nights, still last night too although not as bad. Rapid heartbeat and the WORST heartburn ever. I think I ate about 12 Tums today.
Time for some more ice cream before bed.

Are either one of you taking R-ala?!? or ANY form of a GDA for that matter?!
It is the ONLY thing that I have found to help me in the same situation.

Hi All
Actually just making a major increase in your calories in general will cause similar symptoms after an extended extreme diet - it is not just the carbs.
THe main problem is that your intestinal system ,liver , and kidney are have adapted to starvation so that when you challenge them with a post contest binge they cannot control the proper levels in your blood of all sorts of things that can affect your brain (amino acids, glucose, ammonia, dietary toxins - most foods have them -, etc).
The only way to prevent it I guess is to follow a diet similar to what is recommended to victims of extended starvation in which at least a month is required to return to normal caloric consumption. However I have yet to meet any competitor with that kind of discipline post contest LOL
Best
Doug

I mean I had a cheat weekend of course but then I slowly upped my calories with the weeks to come having a couple cheats on the weekends.

I haven't attempted the icecream yet...YET.
I usually am lactose intolerant post-comp.
What kind?
I did start taking my Glucorell today with carb meals, but I usually get a weird speedy reaction from that alone. I haven't figured that one out yet.

I have hot flashes, didn't think it was related to carbs. Anyone else here have thoughts on GDAs? I tend to have very bad reactive hypoglycemia. Thanks.

Reeses PB Cup, Chocolate Reeses PB Cup, and Peppermint. I still need a blizzard and a frappucino to finish it off before I get back on my diet.
